Curriculum vitae

I'm Víctor de la Cruz, an interface-focused full-stack developer with a couple of decades of experience building web applications and the systems behind them.

My work includes:

  • Building applications from scratch
  • Translating designs and detailed interface specifications into responsive, accessible interfaces
  • Implementing design systems and reusable UI foundations
  • Translating domain knowledge into modules, functions, database schemas, and clear system boundaries
  • Preparing and transforming data for visualizations, including geospatial workflows with GDAL, GeoJSON, and MapLibre GL
  • Modernizing existing frontend and backend systems

Current practice

After years of working with Vue and TypeScript, I now spend most of my time with Elixir, Phoenix, LiveView, Tailwind CSS, and PostgreSQL. That combination provides a cohesive foundation for building web applications end to end, from interface details to data models and runtime behavior.

I use agentic engineering workflows with open-source harnesses such as Pi and OpenCode across multiple model providers. I start by exploring the problem, turn what I learn into a plan and concrete specifications, then implement, test, and review the result. When errors appear, I investigate their causes and account for related failure modes instead of prompting at random.
